The wedding weekend recap continues! This part won’t require much besides photos, since I have so many, thanks to BHS (Big Happy Snapper), the GCM’s brother. Friday night we had a dinner in order to have more quality time with our friends who had traveled from out of town for the weekend.
Of course it kicked off with yet another pre-party in our casita . . .
Corbin had an outstanding sequined-dress situation.
Dr. Muffin! Lots of champagne was consumed . . .
That’s Uncle John and Maiki’s parents.
Cousin John Evans, Mom, Aunt Jen, Dr. Muffin!
Team Granger, Lukey, and Matty
I am now starting to figure out how Miss Eva ended up sick after our wedding . . .
Mom’s BFFs from college, Julie and Donna (on the mic, below) and their other halves, John and Jim, hosted our Friday Night Mexican Fiesta at my favorite old Palos Verdes establishment, the Red Onion.
The place is just the same as it was when I was a kid; it’s a classic!
We had shuttles for margarita safety…
Donna and Julie had custom Hillary & Maik shot glasses made for the occasion and a special toast that they learned on their visit to Arizona the previous month . . .
For me, “double-fisting” usually means latte in one hand, bottle of water in the other . . .
Clearly the tequila/ margarita combo was an unusual challenge.
The buffet!
I heart Mexican food.
Team McKenzie. So cute.
Team Tollakson. Ditto. PS: T minus 4 days til we get to watch Ashley crush it at the US Olympic Marathon Trials!!!!!!!!
GCM with dear friends Yo Jules and Dooder the Super Pacer!
With my cousin, Greg. We did our first ironman together, back in 2001!
The fam!
With Team Kessler . . . Mere made an amazing speech, which was definitely one of the evening’s highlights.
So grateful for this amazing friendship!
Dessert. Caramel inside. Warm. Not gluten-free or vegan but o. m. g. Needless to say, we were once again well-fueled for the next morning’s smashfest. Report on that up next.
In the meantime, we have another pink-star jersey winner—from last week’s “2011’s Accomplishments” contest! I think it is important that we all take the time to give ourselves some credit once in awhile, and I loved reading about the awesome personal precedents that were set by all of you in the past year. Our winner is “Accepted to U of A” Allison because I think she might need that long-sleeved jersey if she comes to school here in the desert—winter cycling will be a bit chilly! Allison, shoot me your address please!
