Wedding Photo Album, Part One!

by hillarybiscay

Okay these wedding photos are taking a bit of sorting!! And I don’t even have the professional ones yet . . . So I am just going to start slapping the highlights of what I have up here because if I leave the whole task ‘til I am done going through them all, you won’t have a blog for another week! Training is no joke at the moment, so a massive blogging task is more than I can wrap my head around.

One important public service announcement before I get to the photos: Recovery Pump has just announced that you can still get my special space boots at the holiday price of $1095—and a prescription is no longer required! Plus, if you use my affiliate code, A11021, this gets you another $25 off, free ground shipping, and a tote bag. Don’t hesitate to email me if you have any questions about this awesome recovery tool or about how to order them!

Now for the wedding…

aisle girls and moo

Little cousins Callie and Zoey walked Ms. Eva down the aisle. I guess I should point out the obvious here: this was no church aisle. All I ever wanted was to get married by the ocean, where I grew up.

So we had our ceremony and reception at a little marine museum just a couple miles from my parents’ house because it is right on the cliffs, over the ocean. See all that white/ grey behind the fence? Yeah, that is where the water is. You just can’t see it.

After 10 days of beautiful, sunny, clear days, the fog decided to come in for about 36 hours, concentrated right in this area (literally– even my parents’ house was in the sunshine this afternoon), just in time for my wedding.

It was a slight bummer, but in the end, having so many special friends and family there with me was truly all that mattered. It was a perfect weekend anyways.

boods!

Mini looked so cute!

ceremony

One of the absolute highlights of the event for me was having a dear friend perform the ceremony. Peggy McDowell-Cramer, who is an old friend and ironwoman extraordinaire, made the ceremony really personal and special.

vows

We wrote our own vows too.

fam

The son and brother they always wanted!

w signature drink!

I thoroughly enjoyed our signature drink, the blood orange-pomegranate margarita—with salt!

aunt justy

With my Aunt Justy! It was so special to have her there; she is the last one we have of my grandparents’ generation and she is a gem.

with mom and aunts

With Mom and her sisters, Aunt Diane and Aunt Jen (the famous walker!)

madison

Our tables were named after places we have both raced. Of course we had to sit at “Madison.”

with team T

Team Tollakson sat at “Lake Placid.”

GCM and rents

The German parents.

cam toast

Mini gave an awesome toast.

eddie and E

That’s my cousin Ted and my god-daughter Estelle.

with woodlings

With Marge Woodling and the famous Mr. Woodling, whom you have heard much about here: he was my swim coach in high school and that experience truly shaped me as an athlete . . . again, it was so special to have them there!!

PV girls!

Speaking of formative years and special people, here are several: those are the Pfeil girls–Kimberly and Kathryn–Diana Pfeil, and Julie Mork and Donna Gallagher (of Friday Night Dinner fame)—all our family’s BFFs since forever. Love these ladies!!

More wedding pics to come once I recover some brain cells!

Beautiful pictures, Hillary! And how cute that Miss Eva was part of the ceremony as well! I’d love to have the recipe for your signature drink, the blood orange/pomegranate margarita if you would be willing to share.

You chose a beautiful place, even though the sun wasn’t shining.
I love the flower arrangements on the table.
Did Maik and his parents bring any german traditions to the wedding?
