You find signs like this all along the road. Or these in your yard . . .
That’s the kookaburra.
I keep looking for a koala in the Grangers’ yard but instead I found a bush turkey.
As you can imagine, I was very excited to get up close and personal with two kangaroos on our ride yesterday, but I didn’t have my camera! Shoot.
Of course I miss my pets back home something terrible, so I bug my pet Cat every couple of hours for written and photo updates on the pup. Photos preferred. These are a few of the recent highlights . . . Above is naptime with Daddy.
Road trip with Daddy. Little does she know that she is in for a very long one tomorrow and Wednesday—to St. George! We even got her a proper doggy car set for the occasion.
Looks like Daddy has food . . .
I like to think she is looking for me here . . . My Cat says that she keeps looking outside and checking the garage door when she hears a noise.
The standard early morning pose: “RUB MY BELLY, MOM!”
I am now that person who pulls up photos on the blackberry of “my kids” to show to friends. And flips through them multiple times per day just for fun. Frightening, I know.

Ha ha! Yes, you are that person!!! You will always love everyone else’s animals now, too. So funny!!! Girl, I am thinking about you and can’t wait for you to have a great race. I am so glad you are having good time with friends as well. Go go go!!!!
Viewing pics of your “kids” on your phone is nothing to be ashamed of. I do the same with my kitties.
Interesting to see the kind of wildlife people get in their back garden in Australia.
Here only hedgehogs, squirrels, foxes and tiny birds (bluetits, robins, etc)
so that’s what a kookaburra looks like! I sang the kookaburra song but as a kid I thought it was similar to a koala! however…it’s appears to be a bird.
the only fun animal that you might see in our backyard trails is a beaver. definitely nothing cute like koalas or fun like kangaroos!
awww the pups is too stinkin’ cute!
There was a Barney song about a Kookaburra that I had the pleasure (?) of listening to every day for at least 5 years. Never knew what they looked like. So envious of the Grangers pool. So loving the pics! Keep em coming and cant wait to “watch” you race! Sending you FAST vibes
You know I love Eva. I actually started researching chihuahua rescue in WI yesterday. Of course the one I want to bring home is 12 and blind. But! What fun. She is a dumpling. I hope you are feeling well and getting excited!!! Love all of your pictures.
