It must be almost time to race because I slept from 9PM last night ‘til 8AM this morning and only consumed a total of 4 shots of espresso today. At least I sure hope it is almost race time, because I am getting sick of the 2-2.5 hours of training per day thing.
Yuck.
I suppose it would be a-ok if it were all hard, or all running, but 2-2.5 hours of taper training is no fun at all.
But I only have two more days to endure ‘til I will be running along here–26.2 miles of running YEAH!
Port Macquarie is a great little town; I got to spend a couple of days here in 2009 when I creepily came to watch my GCM race after we had had a total of one date.
It’s not like it was just down the road; I mean, I had to fly down from Noosa to Sydney and then drive five hours to get here (actually I had a long ride to do, so I may have jumped out of the car with my bike mid-way through the drive). He was about to go home to Germany and I was afraid I would never see him again!
I guess it worked out.
I wish the GCM were here with me because he would be loving the coffee shop right underneath my hotel.
And this is the view from out front. The Ironman Australia folks know how to take care of us, that’s for sure.
I got my bike dialed and all my gear laid out today so I am feeling organized and ready to go. Let’s get the show on the road!

hmm good question. is it weird that i have never noticed which way it spins at home?? i can tell you that the circle pattern in the pool is the opposite direction!
There is an LG post on this very topic somewhere. She reported that no it does not spin any differently after a long distance phone call to the states to confirm direction if I remember correctly.
why don’t i know what LG is?!?

Race week is a funny time. I actually feel more drained than if I was in full training mode.
