Brasilian Specialities

by hillarybiscay

It has been pouring rain here in Floripa for almost 24 hours. Today became an unplanned swim-only day because my bike is perfectly dialed at the moment and I am not about to mess that up by taking it out in this weather . . .

Soooo let’s talk about food! Somewhere Amanda will be very sad to learn that our favorite acai place has closed. Since I don’t have a car, I am stuck with the home-made version. But since we are in Brasil, the ingredients are easy to come by. Above: strawberry and banana-flavored frozen acai, and plain frozen pureed mango.

I threw it in the blender with peanut butter, water, and Tropical Tango Vega. That mixture with some gluten-free granola and banana on top = almost as good as the café version!

Some of my other favorite Brasilian treats: peanutty deliciousness.

And of course, I will be filling my suitcase with lots of this to take back home!

Que saboroso (how delicious)! everything looks good.
I may just have to pop up to some brasilian shop here and try some of these.
I’ve never had Acai so i’m curious to find out what it tastes like (is it a fruit?)

I hope the rain clears up in time for your race, I know what you mean by not having a car abroad as that was me a week ago. take it easy and save all the energy for sunday

Boa sorte amiga

Love this. When we travel abroad I always like to hit the grocery store and grab some yummy vegan foods.

Fingers crossed the rain stops and there’s gorgeous weather in the near future!

I’m addicted to acai bowls from Basik here in Kona. I blame you for this addiction. I have not figured out how to make them myself..I feel as though when I do I might begin to live off them. So unbelievably delish!
