The past few days have been a whirlwind. After 3 big races on 3 continents in four weeks, the GCM and I returned home from Hawaii at midnight Thursday night and left on a 9AM flight to Austin Friday morning. I am happy to report that last night I took my last plane flight for the indefinite future. My body hates me right now, but it will soon be thankful for time away from metal death boxes.
Anyhow, we had a very important event to attend in Austin this weekend: the wedding of one of my superstars, Jennifer, to her lovely other half, Jason. The GCM and I were so honored to be part of their big day; it was really, really special that GCM got to ride the hills of Austin with the groom on his wedding day and I got to be a part of the whole pre-game prep with the beautiful bride and her bridesmaids.
While our trip was much too short, the GCM and I also got to check out some of the local scene–with Missy Moo, of course. SnackBar Austin was a highlight–lots of vegan and gluten-free deliciousness, and Missy Moo got to sit right there with us. Austin is such a dog-friendly town!
Gluten-free hempseed burger?!? Yes, please!!
Today we are packing up our lives here so we can head west for the summer tomorrow. I will check in again from SoCal!
