happy as . . .

by hillarybiscay

a pig in . . . well you know the saying! It’s been so nuts around here trying to fit in training, DRIVING (argh), and rehab that I literally did not even get to open my laptop on Thursday or Friday. And this is Mom’s birthday weekend so it’s been a training + family weekend here.

But I am beside myself with happiness with my whole situation right now. After a day out on Tuesday, I managed to stack on hard day on top of another for the rest of this week. Yesterday was an 8-hour training day with the longest training ride I have done in ages, chasing the boys up and over the mountains and through the canyons—meaning more climbing than I’ve done in a single ride in forever as well. And yet today I was able to head out on a long run without feeling like a crippled old woman. This is not something that I take for granted any longer.

I had begun to think that maybe that’s just what happens after 54 ironmans, but I am so thankful to have a team here in LA behind me who did not accept that this was simply the way things were. My body is getting fixed, and my mind as well; I am loving smashing myself every day again because my body is taking it and bouncing back—getting stronger. Amazing.

I wish I had pics to share, but those haven’t happened either—need to get the Happy Snapper on this project! So instead you get pics of what we are working for here . . .

Once you get fixed, the joy of training without discomfort is B-L-I-S-S

Is it mere coincidence that MBK gets another big W and we both start training well again? I think not.
