I say this somewhat sarcastically as yesterday I was about ready to buy a ticket on the next plane out of this all-day traffic jam!
I have to admit that I have fantasies of being in my very own house in Tucson with space and a proper kitchen, and of being able to finish a training session at my house and immediately whip up a recovery shake—all little things I used to take for granted!
But days like today make dealing with LA chaos worthwhile: a brick smashfest with the team, ending with some running repeats that I’m not sure I could have wrapped my head around on my own. But with the team and Coach Siri for company, one just bangs them out without even thinking about it—love it!
No. that’s not me with my Cat. Apparently this is what happens when I’m rummaging around Coach’s car for supplies mid-ride: Swim Buddy takes over . . . Above is us trying to keep up with her on the bike this morning.
Good old Pacific Coast Highway. We actually had a flat ride for once. Amazing how quickly the miles go by when we aren’t trying to cram in 10,000 feet of climbing! The aerobar time gave me a chance to test my new set-up and I loved it.
Happy training weekend my friends!

hope you are well!
I dream of traffic free roads all the time
I know how you feel.
Did you get to see how narrow our roads and my training ground are at the olympic road race race today?
PCH!!!
Funny the little things you miss about home when you’re away–even in a great place. personally, i missed western-style breakfast and urban planning.
you could hook the blender up in the car for recovery shakes, you guys would be the coolest ‘homeless’ nappers in the park.
new addition needs some close up shots! the highway is pretty but the bike is badass.
