In case getting the heck beat out of her by miracle-worker John Ball on three days during her four-day trip wasn’t enough, we decided to make Mini run a track session yesterday morning before her torture appointment.
Marilyn, Sam, and I escorted her through her first set of Yasso 800s. Missy Moo and the Cat spectated and cheered.
It was, quite literally, fun for the whole family.
Mini keeps trying to argue with that, but I know she will thank us for it later. She got some valuable practice digging deep ; and there’s no time better to do that than when surrounded by friends.
Despite what this looks like, yesterday capped off a massive recovery week for me. Literally, I added up what I did just for kicks (I don’t usually track hours too specifically) and it looked like this:
Cycling: 4 hours
Running: 1.75 hours
Swimming: 1.75 hours
Hiking: 3.5 hours
I am feeling quite well-rested now!
Now for the important stuff . . . These lucky folks have SMASH tees coming their way because they correctly guessed the answer to last week’s trivia question: Victoria Anderson and Mike Welch! The answer was: Ironman Wales was my 29th top-five iron-distance finish.
Email me your shipping info and we will send your shirts. Thanks for playing. Stay tuned for another giveaway this week!

So much more “enjoyable” watching others being tortured around the track. One of my least favourite places to run I must admit. Give me muddy, cold cross country any day or just hilly
