Here in Kona. The coffee addiction has reached an all-time high in my efforts to keep up with the pace here! Yeah this pace . . .
Some training with the BFF, that is . . . and then just all of the goings-on here on the island. I must admit it is nice to not have to worry about overstaying my welcome in the sun, or being on my feet too long—things I’d be thinking about if I were racing.
But that also means I’ve been burning the candle at both ends a bit as I want to take advantage of this opportunity to catch up with lots of friends, train, and do everything I can for my girls too. I may have made some “pacing errors” in my week here as last night I felt like I usually do by the end of race day, and I realized it was only Tuesday. I will rally, however!
For these girls! Yesterday we got to have a mini squad-swim session at the pool here. I was in heaven being on deck watching my girls swim together! It was just awesome. The fourth member of our contingent, Kona Dawn, arrived today so life is complete!
I’ve got lots more to share from today but this pic from my first Lava Java visit of the trip will have to suffice for now….That’s Lexi, my fave ironkid and ironman superfan! Love her.
Time to rest up for Underpants Run coaching duties in the morning. More tomorrow!
