Whewww I just realized that was a long blogging absence for me. This is where I’ve been . . .
My GCM always gets excited when he sees me packing my bikini for the pool—not in anticipation of seeing me in my bikini, sadly . . . No, he gets excited because a bikini means an easy swim workout.
Anyways, bikini swims aren’t so fun when they are forced because you aren’t allowed to do much more than that. That was my last week—no fun. Coach probably saved me from going completely off the dreaded cliff by forcing a detox that involved doing a whole lot of not much.
On the positive side, it meant bringing one of my fave training partners out of tri retirement for a short bikini swim. And I can report that I now seem to be able to function again on less than 12 hours sleep/ night and I’ve stopped eating non-stop. My appetite was so out of control that I honestly got sick of eating—how is that possible?!
Tomorrow I will see if that bikini-swimming break brought the cycling power back to my legs as well . . . Stay tuned because I realized that it is February and I haven’t done my annual contest yet, so this needs to happen ASAP!

Understand. Training for IM Texas and had 3 solid weeks of training. Appetitie in the out of control mode, getting lots and lots of sleep; can’t seem to get enough. Backing off and regrouping isn’t easy. When this is over I will have to leave retirement and go back to pay for all this. Well, at least that would be recovery : )
I have been adding lots of 25′s band work to my swim workouts like you said. Improvements!!!
THANKS Hillary!
YES!!! love to hear this christie! so excited for st.G for you! please keep me posted on how the races go!
Smash it, rest it then smash again:-) it’s all part of training.
Sleep is a big one for me and I feel i never get enough of it.
Food at the moment is a different story for me as I’ve been on a paleo/ketgenic diet since october = no carb cravings, no hitting the wall. It’s still a work in progress.
AW, you’re cute! I love the idea that bikini = fun workout. Way to bring a pal out of retirement. You’re a motivating force, Mz. Biscay!
