I forget how much I miss the ocean til I am reunited with it . . . Ahhh it was so nice to put on a bikini this morning in the sunshine and spend some quality time in the ocean.
And with friends! So many reunions today- I loved it! Above is Beth and I before our swim. The water is beautiful and I was so happy to have my sleeveless wetsuit.
Cat and I got a lovely long-ish swim in with the Hawaiian crew, Michelle (below, looking hot in her Orange Crush kit!) and Nalani. At one point, we had a ginormous seal flying through the air just a few meters away from us—it was awesome.
I caught up with Alyssa and can confirm that TeamHPB is ready to DO THIS! Follow her progress in the 25-29 age group on Sunday.
You can follow us at www.ironmanlive.com and also follow my friend Jordan’s twitter—she will be updating live from the course, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she has better access than the ironmanlive spotters. Pro women have our own start (yay) at 6:43 AM PST, 3 minutes after the pro men. No idea what kind of overall times to expect on this course, as it is a first-year race, but I do know that it will be warm AND that the bike course is a fair bit more hilly than advertised—also a good thing. It will be interesting to read what the Garmin has to say about elevation gain after the fact!
One thing is for sure: it will be a smashfest!

between that seal story and Jacqui using the phrase “charged by whales,” i’ve pretty much lost all interest in putting this race on the bucket list…
have a great sunday smashing yourself in cabo!
Whales? I love a bit of wildlife during the swim….as long as they don’t eat me (south African sharks take note please!)
Ladies have a great race, it looks like a gorgeous place, I’ll be checking ironman live throughout the day.
You are Rockin that Bikini too may I add, woo hoo!!!! Good Luck Girl, SMASH IT!!!
Ironma live coverage was very poor yesterday but I assume that must have been a tough course. If so what a way to start the season! It can only get easier
Great job to you and your hub, Hillary in Los Cabos!! Also, HUGE congratulations go out to Alyssa for taking 2nd in her AG, fantastic work!
