Tucson Tri Camps

Come take advantage of Tucson’s beautiful weather, legendary mountains and trails for an epic training weekend here in the desert.

PRE-SEASON BIKE & SWIM-FOCUSED CAMP 
January 11-15, 2018
 
This is a training camp designed for men & women training for that half ironman distance and up who are able to complete all the outlined workouts. We will be focused on logging big bike miles on Tucson’s iconic routes in this sunshine, honing our technique in the pool, and tackling our longest swim workout yet (5-10,000 yards depending on ability). Our goal is to provide a weekend that both challenges and supports you into leaving a stronger and tougher athlete than you arrived.
 
 
Camp includes:
  • Challenging training sessions—swim, bike, and run—alongside 3x Ironman Champion Maik Twelsiek and TeamHPB Pro & Coach Alyssa Godesky, and under the guidance of Ultraman World Champion, Ironman Champion, & TeamHPB Head Coach, Hillary Biscay.
  • SAG support for long rides and pace groups to accommodate athletes of different speeds 
  • Individualized stroke instruction in the pool during swim workouts
  • Swag, courtesy of our sponsors
  • Two group meals

Sample camp itinerary (subject to change):

THURSDAY: Early afternoon social jog and swim workout followed by group welcome dinner. 
FRIDAY: Kitt Peak ride: 100 + miles including a tough 14-mile mountain climb 
SATURDAY: Shootout/ Madera Canyon loop (100+ miles) +semi-private technique sessions in pool after ride.
SUNDAY: Mt. Lemmon Climb or Gates+McCain Loops (ride 4-4.5 hrs, including a time trial)+ brick run. Group dinner at coaches’ house.
MONDAY: 100×100 swim or some variation thereof:)  

IRONMAN 12:30 & UNDER SMASHFEST WEEKEND: April 12-16, 2018

This camp is designed for serious ironman athletes who have already completes the distance in under 12.5 hours. Use this camp as a jump-start to summer season training or as  your final big push into Ironman Texas. Whether you are a 12:20 or a 9:20 ironman, you will be pushed beyond your comfort zone here!

Camp includes:
  • Challenging training sessions—swim, bike, and run—alongside Ultraman World Champion, Ironman Champion, & TeamHPB Head Coach, Hillary Biscay, 3x Ironman Champion Maik Twelsiek and TeamHPB Pro & Coach Alyssa Godesky.
  • SAG support for long rides and pace groups to accommodate athletes of different speeds

  • Two group meals

Sample camp itinerary (subject to change):

THURSDAY AFTERNOON: 100×100 swim workout. Group welcome dinner.
FRIDAY: Arivaca loop ride (140 miles) 
SATURDAY: AM:  Long Trail Run on the Arizona Trail (18 miles) & PM: swim workout 
SUNDAY: Mt. Lemmon ride + brick. Group dinner at coaches’ house.
MONDAY: Run workout on the track & semi-private technique swim sessions in pool afterwards. 

**Please note that athletes are expected to participate in all camp sessions and to be fit enough to complete them. Rides in SAG will be reserved for medical emergencies.**
 
Camp fee: $995 or $900 for TeamHPB athletes.
 
A non-refundable deposit of $250 is required to reserve your spot for camp.
