20 June 10: Flashback to last Sunday . . .

Yesterday the GCM and I found a cool perspective on last Sunday’s 10-kilometer birthday swim. From just below the Queen K down near Keahou, we had this perspective of the whole course–but we had to divide it into three photos . . .
We started at the Kailua Pier, which is down near where that little peninsula-type thing and the coastline intersect.
Then we swam along this coastline for ten kilometers, passing hotels that all started to look alike, oceanfront homes, and –don’t tell the GCM–probably some sharks too!
We finished in the Keahou Bay, which comes just before the Sheraton, that last big white hotel (there are a lot of these along the way) on the left. Just looking at this view yesterday got me itching to do it all again!
Today I also wanted to share a link for you to check out: www.eleonorerocks.org. My friends have started this foundation in honor of the baby they lost last year. Through various triathlon-related events, they are raising money to benefit terminally ill children and their families. Right now they are selling tickets for a raffle of lots of great tri and running stuff; the raffle will take place on August 1st. So buy your tickets, support a good cause, and be sure to cheer on the folks in pink “Eleonore Rocks” kits at Ironman Lake Placid next month. Thanks!

what an amazing organization I read their profile page. I will certainly pass their website along to others and will look for them at IMLP as I will be racing their as well. Thanks Hillary
That’s the 10k swim for the UM!
