16 July 10: Today’s Celebration

Today I am celebrating. I don’t want to get too excited just yet, but tonight was time for a small celebration . . . You see, today was a double-bike-ride day, but the its highlight was the little run that followed ride #1. It was the first time in months that I have run off of the bike and actually gone somewhere. Novel concept, right?! I had grown quite accustomed to the uncomfortable sensation of essentially limping along the road, feeling like a wounded animal that needed to be put out of its misery.
Well it turns out that this not-just-normal-tired feeling was most likely caused by an extreme vitamin and mineral deficiency that I managed to develop over the past months (year?) of hard racing and training. Since identifying this problem last week after many, many blood tests, ultrasounds, etc., and embarking on a plan to get these levels back up to normal, that strange and terrible feeling I have had while running has slowly been diminishing. And today, for once, it was finally not there when I jumped off of my bike. Like I said, I hesitate to get too excited just yet, but it was worth a small celebration . . .
Plus we had a little message to create for Belinda, who has a big race this weekend:
In case you can’t read that . . .
GO BELINDA!!

Wow. I think I found my new wallpaper photo. Poor GCM … having to participate in all your binki-clad antics. I really feel for him. *sarcasim*
Yea for the renewed running legs — and for the fun festivities that followed! Is that the kind of cheering support being offered next weekend as well?….
so glad to hear the running is back on!! and the butt message for Belinda, grandest thing i have seen since my highschool days:) You guys are the best!!
ooh i totally want the “HI” part of “GO HILLARY” when you come for ironman in oct.
